What is Decentralized Finance?

What does "onchain" mean?

Onchain means on the blockchain itself, which is the primary market where crypto assets actually live. Exchanges like Coinbase are the secondary market: a business standing between you and the blockchain, showing you only what they choose to list. When your account is onchain, it sits directly on the market, so every asset and yield product that exists is available to it.

How does the process work from start to finish?

Accepted Answer

You apply, and if you qualify, you book a free consultation to match the service to your goals. Onboarding takes about 15 minutes: create your account, deploy your Safe, and deposit funds. Your portfolio is built within 7 days. From there, our team handles it as market conditions change, and your job is to check your dashboard and call your Associate whenever you have questions.

Can I remove my Associate or withdraw my assets at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes to both. Your assets sit in your own account, and withdrawal rights belong to you alone. The trading permission you grant our team is revocable any day you choose. There is no lockup and no exit process to negotiate, because we never hold your money in the first place.

Does NMT store or have custody of my funds?

Accepted Answer

No. Your funds live in your Safe, which you own and control. Our access is a permissioned module scoped to trading only: we can execute strategy inside your account, and we cannot withdraw or redirect funds. You get the benefit of your portfolio being built and adjusted by experts, without the risk of anyone running away with your crypto.

How is my Safe secured?

Your Safe runs on Safe.Global smart contracts, the industry standard securing over $100 billion in crypto assets. Our platform has been fully audited by Consensys Diligence, one of the foremost onchain security auditors since 2017. And the permission structure itself is a security feature: trading rights and withdrawal rights are separated at the contract level, so no one but you can move funds out.

What happens if I lose my private keys?

A Safe is a smart account, not a single-key wallet, so losing one signing key does not mean losing your funds. Signing keys can be replaced and rotated on a Safe account, and we help you set up your signing and recovery arrangements during onboarding so a lost device never becomes a lost portfolio.

Why would I make higher returns through NMT?

Two structural reasons. First, you're buying in the primary market. Exchanges list assets after the early growth has happened: Solana was available onchain at $0.95 in April 2020, and listed on Coinbase over a year later at $44.45. Primary-market investors had access to that entire move; exchange investors didn't. Second, your holdings work. On an exchange, most assets sit idle earning nothing. Onchain, the same assets can be placed in yield products that pay you monthly, like rent on a house. Add cycle management on top (growth assets in the bull, yield and protection in the bear) and the same capital simply has more ways to perform.

What are the risks I should understand?

Two main ones. Market risk: crypto prices go down as well as up, and drawdowns in this asset class can be severe. Our cycle-based strategy is designed to manage that risk, not eliminate it. Smart contract risk: the smart contracts underlying your investment account could in principle fail. We mitigate this by building on Safe.Global contracts, the industry standard already securing over $100 billion, and by using established, audited protocols for yield products. You should also know that yield rates are variable: they move with market conditions and are not fixed.

Is NMT my investment advisor?

No. NMT does not provide investment, financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and we are not registered as an investment adviser, portfolio manager, commodity trading advisor, or broker-dealer. We are not a bank, not a broker, and not a fund manager. NMT is a non-custodial, software-enabled onchain execution assistance and consulting service. The platform displays third-party strategies and their publicly available information. That display is informational, not a recommendation. You pre-approve the strategies your account may connect to and the parameters under which your assets may move among them. Our role is limited to executing within that framework: we do not select strategies outside your approved list, we do not change your parameters, and every allocation decision belongs to you.

Is NMT regulated?

NMT is a software and execution assistance service, not a regulated financial institution. We do not hold, store, or transmit client assets, we do not deal in securities, and we are not registered as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or money services business. You are the sole owner of your account, and the permissions you grant us cannot be used to withdraw your assets. NMT is not a bank, there is no FDIC or SIPC insurance, and there is no government backstop on crypto investments. What you get instead is your own custody, an independently audited platform, and a permission structure that separates trading rights from withdrawal rights at the contract level. Rules for onchain finance are still being written in most jurisdictions, and the direction is toward clearer ones. We retain US securities counsel, including a former senior SEC official, to review our structure as those rules develop, and we will adapt the structure as they do.

Why do Coinbase and JP Morgan provide such limited options?

Because they are custodians. Every asset they offer has to be connected to their internal systems, reconciled between their private databases and the blockchain, and carried on their books as a custody and legal liability. That is slow and expensive, so the result is a short list of late additions. NMT takes a different approach: we do not stand between you and the market. Your account sits directly onchain, in the primary market where crypto assets actually live, so nothing has to be listed or added. Every asset and yield product that exists onchain is already reachable from your account, and you decide, through your pre-approved strategy list, which of them your capital connects to.

What do I need to get started?

At least $50,000 in cash or crypto, and about 15 minutes for onboarding. You don't need any crypto experience: your education and your Associate cover that. Respectfully, if you're hunting the next thousand-x meme coin or want guaranteed overnight returns, this service is not for you. It's built for people who have already won in their career or business and want to allocate a portion of their net worth to this asset class intelligently.

What if I want to stop using NMT?

You stop. Your assets are in your own account, so there's nothing to redeem and no one to ask. Revoke our trading permissions, withdraw your assets, and walk away any day you choose. We will continue educating you so you can get the same results as if we were still doing it for you.

Can I get the same results doing this myself?

Everything we do happens onchain, in public, and our education tells you exactly how we build these portfolios, so yes, in principle. In practice, this is a 24/7 market that moves at 3am on a Sunday, the research never stops, and the hardest trades to execute are the ones involving your own money. Most people who try it buy high, sell low, and miss the entries they had already researched. The most expensive thing in crypto is doing nothing. The second most expensive is doing it yourself. If you have the time and the temperament, our education will genuinely equip you. If you don't, that's exactly what the service is for.
